As Uganda eagerly anticipates the release of the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results, we at VINAStech are here to guide you through the easy steps to check these results. The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has scheduled the official release for Thursday, January 23, 2025, at State House Nakasero, where the Minister for Education and Sports, Mama Janet K. Museveni, will announce the results.
Congratulations to all the candidates who sat for the 2024 PLE! Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have led you to this moment, and we are proud of the efforts you’ve put into your education.
How to Check Your PLE Results
Via SMS
- Step 1: Open your messaging app on your mobile phone.
- Step 2: Type “PLE” followed by a space, then your full index number (e.g., PLE 004401/380).
- Step 3: Send this message to the shortcode 6600.
- Note: Each SMS is charged at UGX 500, so ensure you have sufficient airtime. You’ll receive your results swiftly via a text message detailing your performance in each subject.
Via Online Platform
- Although UNEB’s online platform currently caters mainly to school administrators, here’s what they can do:
- Step 1: Log into the UNEB eResults portal with the school’s credentials.
- Step 2: Navigate to the results section and input the necessary details to download or view the results.
For parents, guardians, and candidates, while direct access to the online platform isn’t available yet, updates from UNEB suggest potential future access. Keep an eye on the UNEB website for any announcements regarding this service.
Important Tips:
- Double-check your index number to ensure you get the correct results.
- Keep your phone ready with enough credit for multiple SMS attempts if needed.
- Stay updated by checking official UNEB channels or reliable news sources for any last-minute changes or updates on result availability.
The performance in 2024 has been described by UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo as better than the previous year, which sets a hopeful tone for all who participated in these examinations. This year saw an increase in candidate registration, with 798,771 candidates having registered for the PLE, compared to 749,254 in 2023, marking a 6.6% increase.
We understand the anticipation and anxiety that comes with waiting for examination results. Remember, regardless of the outcome, this is just one step in your educational journey. Whether you’re moving on to Senior 1 or looking at other educational pathways, your potential for success remains boundless.
As we await the official announcement, we wish all candidates, their families, and educators the very best. Here’s to new beginnings and continued learning!
