University Government Admissions now ONLINE

In a significant move towards digitalization, the Public Universities Joint Admissions Board (PUJAB) has announced the introduction of online applications for government-sponsored programs in all public universities and tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The new online application process, facilitated through the Academic Management Information System (ACMIS), aims to streamline the admissions process and provide a more efficient experience for both applicants and institutions. By transitioning to an electronic platform, PUJAB seeks to reduce paperwork, minimize processing time, and enhance data accuracy.

Professor Buyinza Muakadasi, Academic Registrar at Makerere University, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “The online application system will enable school administrators to input applicant information directly into the ACMIS system, ensuring quick data capture and processing. This will not only improve efficiency but also enhance the overall admissions experience.”

To support a smooth transition, PUJAB has scheduled a series of awareness meetings and regional physical gatherings for school administrators. These sessions will provide essential information on the online application process, guidelines, and technical support.

Key Dates and Information

  • Awareness Meetings: October 1st – 4th, 2024 (Virtual/Zoom)
  • Regional Meetings: October 14th – November 4th, 2024 (Physical)
